- A donation from the National Lottery has been made to the Roseway Care Centre. As well as paying to upgrade their internet capability, the donation has paid for IT equipment, such as iPads and Nintendo Switches. Roseway Care Home released a statement saying ‘It’s been difficult over the past few months for residents having little to no direct contact with family. Hopefully, this donation will brighten the residents stay at Roseway, as well as allowing them to stay in contact with their relatives’.
- Greigbury’s oldest resident, Hildon Langley, celebrated his 101st birthday. In responding to the now traditional question of ‘What is the secret of your long life?’, Hildon replied, ‘I sold my soul to a devil on my 18th. Or it might have been preserving myself with alcohol and tobacco for near a century.’
